GRACE will be accepting 2024 registrations from Greene County residents for our annual Thanksgiving Box and Christmas Gift Programs (Children and Senior) on Friday, September 27 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday, September 28th from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Description

Greene Alliance of Church/Community Efforts, Inc. (GRACE) will be accepting registrations from Greene County residents for our annual Thanksgiving Box and Christmas Gift Programs on Friday, September 27th from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday, September 28th from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.    Registration is required on those dates at the American Legion Hall, 636 Madison Road, Stanardsville, VA.  NO REGISTRATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED AFTER September 28th!!

Children's Gift Program:  Only children age 15 and under are eligible to receive gifts from the GRACE Christmas Gift Program. However, the Shop-With-A-Cop program will be registering children through age 17 during GRACE's registration.  Clients many only register for one of these programs.

Senior's Gift Program:  Seniors must be 55 years of age or older to register for the Senior Gift Program.

Clients registering must submit the following proof for the program(s) for which they are applying.

 

THANKSGIVING PROGRAM PROOF REQUIRED:

 1.  Photo ID with current Greene County physical address (PO Boxes will not be accepted; proof can be provided by presenting a utility bill or lease with the registrant's name and address included)

2.  Proof of Greene County Residency (if photo ID is not current, proof can be provided by presenting a utility bill or lease with the registrant's name and PHYSICAL address included).

3. Proof of Income (one month's pay statements, Social Security award letter, bank statement showing deposit from Social Security Administration, TANF award letter, letter documenting unemployment insurance or written verification of income from Social Services).

 

CHRISTMAS GIFT PROGRAM PROOF REQUIRED:

 1-3 above.  Same proofs as required for Thanksgiving Box Program above.

4. Proof of Guardianship for any child not the client's own and living with them PERMANENTLY.  Acceptable proof must be guardianship received through the court system.

 

To qualify for either of these programs, client household incomes must not exceed 200% of poverty guidelines.

See the attached flyers for additional information.   Please advertise this registration process in your church bulletins or other organizations as appropriate.  Make sure to include both sides of the smaller Bulletin Article page as the client proof required is different for these two programs.

If you know of a family who can benefit from either of these programs, please share this information with them.

After registration, watch for emails detailing how you can adopt a family for one or both of these programs.
